Fengyun Satellite Observed Typhoon Dataset (FYSATTY 1.0)

The Fengyun Satellite Observed Typhoon Dataset (FYSATTY 1.0) contains all tropical cyclones (TCs) captured by the Fengyun geostationary meteorological satellites (FY-2 and FY-4 series) over the western North Pacific. This dataset is integrated with the CMA Tropical Cyclone Best Track Data (https://tcdata.typhoon.org.cn/zjljsjj.html), and includes TC center longitude and latitude, maximum wind speed, minimum sea-level pressure, as well as satellite observations in visible, water vapor, and infrared bands. The spatial coverage extends north of the equator and west of 180° longitude, including the South China Sea, with a spatial resolution of 4 km for satellite observations. The data period spans from 2005 to 2024, with a temporal resolution of 3 hours. The data are provided in NetCDF (NC) format.

Due to constraints in server storage capacity and the substantial size of the dataset, only a selected subset of TC cases from 2024 has been made available for user access. For inquiries regarding the full dataset, please contact luxq@typhoon.org.cn.
